Grief and Loss

Invisibility, the gaping hole of grief.

Grief and loss are often invisible to the naked eye. Whether or not we realize it, we encounter people each day who are going through the loss of love, health, youth, money, property, social status, loved ones, pets, on and on…

Universal truths…

Feelings can’t tell time. A loss may be fresh and recent. Or it may be have occurred long ago. It’s natural for feelings of grief and loss to reach out and grab us at any moment, triggered by unexpected reminders.

Even when we don’t want to face our feelings of loss, sooner or later, one way or another, emotions will express themselves in healthy ways or otherwise.

Making the impossible bearable. Go easy.

Family dynamics, cultural values, mental health and other factors combine to produce various ways of responding to loss. Key elements are acceptance, patience and self-care.

With time and determination, we find peace and push back fear. Gestures of simple kindness and care go a long way. Our work together will set the stage for healing, strength and acceptance.
